I, like so many boys in the 60's and 70's, took wood shop in school. Working with the wood and creating items form just plain boards was just amazing to me. Then the call of college came and I began studying Electrical Engineering, however I ended up in the Telecommunications and IT field. Flash forward to 2009. Wood working came back into my life when a friend offered to teach me how to turn a pen on a lathe and I was immediately hooked. So here I am all these years later with a full size lathe, all the woodworking tools needed to do what I do and along with pens, I have moved into making Bowls, Boxes and Artistic pieces.
I live in Southeastern Michigan and am the former President of the Detroit Area Woodturners and a member of the American Association of Wood Turners. I am now an award winning artist for my bowl "The Mixed Family".
